Hoy Creek Linear Park

Hoy Creek Linear Park is a scenic park located in Coquitlam, British Columbia. It follows the natural course of Hoy Creek and its many tributaries, creating over 5 kilometres of trails for nature-lovers to explore. The park itself is home to a wide variety of wildlife including birds, mammals, amphibians, fish and reptiles. The trails are well-maintained and take visitors through lush forests, open meadows and along the banks of Hoy Creek.

Lafarge Lake

Lafarge Lake is a five-hectare man-made lake, located in Town Centre Park in central Coquitlam, British Columbia. The Evergreen Cultural Centre lies on the southwest corner of the lake, and the Water’s Edge Festival is held on the lake shore for 25 continuous hours in March. The area was originally a quarry, but in the 1970s the land was transferred to the city of Coquitlam, and a successful reclamation project ensued.

Glen Park

Glen Park is an urban park in the Town Centre area of Coquitlam, British Columbia. It contains a picnic area, park trails, playground, ball diamond, and fenced dog park. Starting in 2012, the 16.7 acre park went through a $508,000 upgrade in part to support all the high density construction going on in the area. During the upgrade the city controversially cut down many trees in the park.

Coquitlam Centre

Coquitlam Centre is a shopping mall in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, built in 1979 and expanded in 2001. It is located at the southern edge of the Coquitlam Town Centre area, near Coquitlam Central station and several other smaller shopping centres. Coquitlam Centre is the largest mall in the Tri-Cities area, with an area of 84,882 square metres and 200 stores and services. Coquitlam Centre is a super-regional sized shopping centre anchored by Walmart, Hudson’s Bay, Best Buy, Dollarama, London Drugs and T & T Supermarket. Coquitlam Centre’s original anchor tenants included Hudson’s Bay, Eaton’s, and Woodward’s.

City Centre Aquatic Complex

The City Centre Aquatic Complex is an indoor aquatic centre featuring an Olympic size swimming pool in the Town Centre area of Coquitlam, British Columbia. The building was designed by Vic Davies Architect Ltd., built at a cost of $8.2 million, and opened in March 1994. The interior is orange with rope railings around the wave pool. The pools use ozone for secondary water purification.

Walton Park

Walton Park is a large public park located in the heart of Walton, England. The park was established in 1890 and consists of rolling lawns, flower gardens, trees, shrubbery and a large pond. It is home to many different species of wildlife including birds such as ducks and swans. In addition to its natural beauty, Walton Park also features a range of recreational areas including tennis courts, a soft play area for children and an outdoor theatre.

Evergreen Cultural Centre

The Evergreen Cultural Centre is a community gathering place for performing and visual arts activities in Coquitlam, British Columbia, opened in October 1996 by former Coquitlam Mayor Lou Sekora. The design team was headed by Thom Weeks of Architectura, and the contract was completed by Proscenium Architecture. The Centre features a 257-seat black box theatre, a fully equipped rehearsal hall, four art studios, and a 1,500-square-foot art gallery.
